Course contents :  Introduction to the work of Louis Paul Boon, one of the major novelists of postwar Flemish literature. Aanlysis and interpretation of two of his late novels.
Course objective :  Enhancing the students' acquaintance of the tools for analyzing literary prose. Extending their knowledge of the history of modern Dutch literature and its wider historical context.
Prerequisites :  Good notions of spoken and written Dutch.
Workshops :  Oral presentation focusing on an aspect of the analysis of the two novels under scrutiny. Paper based upon this presentation.
Organization :  Duration and period: 30h of theory in the 1st semester.
