Course contents :  Various Renaissance Latin texts are translated and discussed during the course : most of them are historical texts or are related to main political, philosophical or social issues of the period ; texts from Petrarch, Poggio Bacciolini, Erasmus of Thomas More are regularly studied. The students will prepare those texts at home before courses and study personally a larger text they will choose by mutual agreement with the teacher.
Course objective :  An initiation to the Renaissance Latin authors language and to the bibliographic tools needed to translate and study their works.
Prerequisites :  basic knowledge of Latin and of Antiquity
Organization :  Duration : 30h.
