Course contents :  The course is subdivided in the following way:
- cell lines
- aseptic techniques
- culture environment
- primary cultures
- optical and electron microscopies techniques
- cloning and cell type selection
- caracterization
- transformed phenotype
- contaminations
- instability, variation and conservation
- quantification and experimental pojects
- viability and cytotoxicity measurement
- tridimensional culture.
Course objective :  The philosophy of the course of culture of cells is to communicate to the students the basic techniques used for the culture of animal or human cells in vitro

The objective continued are:
- maintenance of the viable isolated cells or the functional units apart from the organism;
- application of good laboratory practices;
- handling, which constitutes the best training for the student.
Prerequisites :  Good knowledge in cellular and tissue biology
Workshops :  - Preparation of sterilized material and media
- Starting cells culture
- Congelation -decongelation
- Cells count
- Passaging
- Viability tests
- Observations (phase contrast microscopy)
- Mycoplasma detection
