Course contents :  Basic concepts in soil sciences
- From natural soils to polluted sites...
- Principles and methods for environnemental evaluation
Applied environnemental evaluation
- Natural values and contamination estimations for trace elements in soils
- Spatial characterization of contaminations
- trace elements in the soil-plant continuum : case studies
Evaluation of environnemental risk, selection and implementation of actions
- Principles and methods of Risk Assesment (towards hydrosystems)
- Principles and methods of decontamination
- Field trip (decontamination site)
Course objective :  Introduction to methodological aspects and tools dedicated to characterization of soil contaminations and to risk assessment of contaminants dissipation through environnement.
After completing the course the student is expected to
- analyse methodological considerations about environmental diagnostics
- evaluate risks of contaminants dissipation
- identify appropriate solutions for soil remediation

Assessment :  Written examination (100%)
