Course contents :  - The industrial products: technical specifications, methods of analysis
- The normalized drawing
- The materials
- Assemblies with welded joints and with screws, ,fasteners and connections
- Guiding in rotation
- Guiding in translation
- Transmission: belts, chains, gearing
- Clutches
- Couplings
- Lubrification
Course objective :  To give the basis of mechanical engineering design.
After completing the course the student is expected to
- use the appropriate technical vocabulary
- to be familiar with technical drawings
- know the characteristics of the main machines elements
- be able to use the concepts in the CAO course
Prerequisites :  -- LT201 - Strength of materials and elasticity
-- ME207 - Kinematics and dynamics of machines
