| Course contents : | 1st part: Climate
- definition of climate: atmosphere phenomena, weather, climate
- interactions between climate and environment:
* impact of climate processes on the environment, and vice versa; * impact of energy processes on environment;
- measurement of climates: peculiar variables to measure;
- prospective issue: climate evolution
2nd part: Energy
- introduction to the Energy problematic
- social and economical aspects
- impact of energy chains on the environment (fossil fuels, nuclear, renewables): mine extraction / conversion / waste management
- measurement of the environmental impact of energy flows
- energy management: evaluation of energy systems, life-cycle analysis, multicriteria analysis
- prospective on energy use: evolution of demand, resources and reserves |

| Course objective : | To identify the interactions between the climate processes, the energy processes and the environment. To define the impact indicators and the evaluation methods connected to the exploitation of the energy sources. |
