| Course objective : | To initiate to principles of operational pedology aiming at the knowledge of forest soils and to specify their ecosystemic role.
After completing the course the student is expected to
- read and interpret the soil map of Belgium,
- initiate a soil survey and perform a soil description,
- characterize humus types,
- conceive a strategy of soil sampling and soil analyses,
- interpret site physical, hydric and trophic parameters,
- argue about soil amelioration and management strategies. |
