Presentation

This education programme aims to allow people with degrees in dental science to acquire a complete range of skills, both theoretical and practical, and above all clinical experience in the very specialised area of orthodontics and dento-facial orthopedics.

Next to clinical activities, which represent the essential of the educational programme, theoretical courses, demonstrations, case study discussion seminars, bibliographical studies and the participation in research work allowing the young specialist to acquire the experience essential to working as a professional.

Depuis 2001, la spécialisation en Orthodontie est officiellement reconnue dans notre pays. L'agrément comme spécialiste et l'obtention du titre professionnel particulier de spécialiste en Orthodontie nécessite notamment d'avoir suivi une formation complémentaire telle que décrite dans les Arrêtés Ministériels suivants :
  • AM du 11/06/01 (publié au MB le 05/07/01), relatif aux critères généraux d'agrément des dentistes spécialistes
  • AM du 28/05/01 (publié au MB le 10/07/01), relatif aux critères spéciaux d'agrément des spécialistes en Orthodontie
  • AM du 29/03/02 (publié au MB le 31/05/02), relatif aux critères d'agrément des dentistes généralistes.

Le présent programme de Maîtrise Complémentaire est conforme à ces directives et comprend notamment le tronc commun (250 H) relatif à l'exercice professionnel autonome.


Particular requierements

  • Holding a degree in Dental Science or a Masters in Dental Science and being qualified to practice in Belgium.
  • Being in possession of official evidence, given by the Interuniversity Commission concerned, on the basis of a curriculum vitae and a selection test organised by the Ulg's Faculty of Medicine.


Duration

  • Four years of studies.
