Part 1: the horse

-) different body parts (surface anatomy)

Part 2: cattle

Course objective :  
Appreciation of domestic animals

This course directs the attention to the variations that exist between animals of the same breed. A method is proposed of comparing each animal individual with the true type for its breed. Usual identification methods of horses and cattle are described.
Prerequisites :

Appreciation of domestic animals

The students will be able to:
estimate the age of horses and cattle, using morphological and particularly dental characteristics;
complete the identification of a horse;
assess the main skills and defects of an animal according to its use by man.

A test will be organized during the practicals and will be take into account for 1/4 of the practicals final note.
