 |
- The main objective of the teaching activity is to stimulate the students to image analysis through interaction with the teachers. Specific objectives are: be able recognize and name the radiographic views, be able to criticize the radiographic technique, be able to identify normal anatomical structures, give a solid base of radiographic image analysis before applying theoretical knowledge to clinical cases film readings.

Practically: students are expected at at the clinic 8.15 with a pair of CLEAN dark leggings and their clinical equipment.
They attend clinics from 8.15 till 11.30. Attendance is compulsdory. Any absence has to be notified by email to H. Amory and by phone to the secretary. Any unjustified absence or misbehaviour can lead to a penalized mark for the clinic.
Case reports
- All the 2nd GMV students of the equine clinic (surgery+internal medicine/reproduction) will present case reports twice a week from 9.00 till 11.15 under the supervision of an assistant (2 groups of 2 to 3 students)
Subjects and rotations will be available at the secretary.
- Students in the 2 weeks (internal medicine and reproduction) will be presenting cases. As subjects will be displayed at the secretary, students will contact the assistant in charge during their first week (surgery)- Subjects will be chosen , when possible, among consultations or hopitalized cases of the week. Students will have access to the patientt's file but ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING THOSE HOME. FILES ARE TO REMAIN AT THE CLINIC AT ALL TIMES!
-Presentations will be power point or slides formated and will take place in the facilities (room 8 or 9) under the radiology service.
- A general canvas is available on the 2GMV website. Presentations are expected to stimulate discussion between assitants and students.

| Assessment : | The final mark is composed of:
1. Case report:
-data syntesis
-quality of the differential
-quality of litterature review
-quality of questions/answers session
Marks are given for all the students of the one group out of 20.
2.Practical test:
A list of "how to do" is available on the 2GMV webpage. These specific acts have been taught in 1GMV and will be practised during the clinic under teh supervision of a 3GMV studnet (tutor) attributed during the first week in the clinic. On the Friday of the 1st week of rotation, students will be tested randomly on 3 acts. They will either pass (A) or fail (NA) each of these acts. A's are required, NA acts will imply a retest on the following Friday. If the students fails his 3 A's again he will have to take the test again during his finals. Should the student fail again at this 3rd test, he will fail his Clinics in equids regardless the results in the subparts! That would lead to a practical exam in september!
Marks will given as explained here:
- Pass test 1 (3 A) : 20/20
- Fail test 1 and Pass test 2
o total 5 A and 1 NA : 11/20
o total de 4 A and 2 NA : 10/20
o total de 3 A and 3 NA : 9/20
- Fail test 1 and 2, Pass test 3 :7/20
- Fail 3 tests : Fail the entire Clinics in equids.
4. Evaluation during the duty services can modulate the final mark
