Course contents :  Students spend one week in the emergency care unit and in the anaesthesiology unit: they participate to the night duties.

Course objective :  Initiation to the techniques of resuscitation and treatment procedures of patients requiring intensive care, initiation to anaesthesia procedures and recovery of small animals

Prerequisites :  Therotical notions in those areas, delivered during the previous study year.

Organization :  Clinical teaching is ensurred thoughout a seven-weeks clinical carrousel and associated seminars, together with participation to the emergency service during nights, week-ends and holiday periods.

Clinics are organized from 8h00 to 17h00, and up to 8h30 the next day when on night duty


Groups of students and clinical rotations are available at the beginning of the carrousel periods

Assessment :  Students are evaluated throughout their activities in the clinic. Paper work and/or written tests will be organized. Motivation and behaviour during night duties will be carefully evaluated.



Theoretical and clinical teaching must be integrated in this last study year.
