Course contents :  Surgical biology : hemorrhage shock, wound healing, woung sepsis, hydric and electrolytic support, nutritional support, post-op complications. Surgical techniques : patien and surgeon preparation, suture, bandages, hemostasis, contention, instruments, sterilisation, wound treatment.
Course objective :  To master the basic notions in surgical biology and techniques related to domestic animals.
Prerequisites :  Anatomy, physiology, histology taught in bachelor study years.
Workshops :  Five wet labs are organized on sutures, bandages and preparation of the surgeon and the patient.
Organization :  The course and wet labs agenda is communicated at the beginning of the year.
Written notes :  Available on the faculty intranet.
Assessment :  One MCQ type written exam with general implicit solutions is organized during each exam session.

During the secund session, depending on the number of students enrolled, the professors can decide to replace the MCQ by an individual oral examination.

The content of the wet labs is part of the course.
