Common part (20 h). The chapters of this section are :

air pollutants in animal houses; lighting and sound level; wastes management; climatic characteristics (temperature, relative humidity, air speed) and their effect on animal thermal comfort; isolation, ventilation and heating of animal houses; housing design and equipments for cattle, pigs and poultry housing; legislation on animal transport.

The chapters of this section are:

  • the housing of horses;
  • the legislations concerning dogs, cats and other pet animals housing and breeding;
  • the legislation concerning laboratory animal housing and protection

Course objective :  
common courses

This course details the environmental factors influencing the production, health and welfare of farm animals. The course also describes the effects of farm animals on the human environment and presents the sustainable development principles applied to animal husbandry.
