Course contents :  
  • Industrial interbreedings of poultry and rabbits,
  • Role played by management on the incidence of pathologies in poultry and rabbit farms,
  • Main diseases of poultry and rabbits (respiratory, digestive, nervous, reproduction and immunodepression diseases), differential diagnosis and prevention.
  • Common specific diseases of pet rabbits and of some common pet rodents are described during the course. Additional data are given during seminars linked with practical courses
Course objective :  Clinical synthesis of poultry and rabbits sanitary monitoring based on management and, differential diagnosis and prevention of main diseases. Basic knowledge in clinical science of pet rabbits and some common pet rodents
Prerequisites :  Notions dedicated to birds, rabbits and new companion animals that are developed during the previous years (anatomy, physiology, propaedeutics, parasitology, bacteriology, virology, ...) are of the uppermost importance.
Workshops :  Service of Birds, Lagomorphs and Rodents Medicine B42, according to ref. VETE080-2
Organization :  17 hours theoretical course. Students are advised to actively take part at theoretical course
Written notes :  Copy of texts of the slides at students' course office.
