Course contents :  We propose an introduction to the understanding of our universe beyond the Milky Way: formation and properties of galaxies, active galactic nuclei, clusters and groups of galaxies,... and also the cosmology basics useful to understand the up-to-date vision of the formation and evolution of the universe.
This lecture will focus on observing means, phenomenological aspects and modeling as well.
Workshops :  In addition to illustrative exercises concerning the lecture, a personal research work will be asked to the students.
Organization :  2h lectures in 2nd semester
Written notes :  A copy of the slides will be available.
We base our lecture on the P. Schneider book, "Extragalactic Astronomy and Cosmology" (Springer, 2006)
