Course contents :  theoretical approach : historical approach of families and of family sociology (presentation of theories and authors) -discussion of recent research results concerning families and their evolution, family policies, links private life/professional life, intrafamily violences,...
Course objective :  to give students the necessary tools for a critical approach and analyse of contemporary phenomena linked with 'family' and families: divorce, monoparentality, professional insertion, gender....
Prerequisites :  nothing else than a high interest for the topic
Workshops :  reading of papers and meetings with field specialists
Organization :  The course is co-organized by two sociologists and researchers working on complementary topics in relation with the general theme of the course
Written notes :  several papers ans documents to read which will be available for easter
Assessment :  written examination requiring capacity of reflexion on the concepts and the contents of the course
