| Course contents : | - The sensory systems: - sight: the eyes and ophthalmology; the visual system. - Hearing: the ears and ENT - Epidemiology. - Sensory handicaps - the levels of incapacity and invalidity (visual impairment and deafness). - Approach methods to sensory handicaps. Multidisciplinarity. - Psychophysical measurements of sensory problems. The cognitive assessment of handicaps. Intersensory compensations. - The development of children who are blind from birth. The spatial construction of the physical environment and the relational construction of the parental and social environment. - Late handicaps (recent blindness and acquired deafness) and behavioural consequences. Screening. - Compensatory communication methods (Braille, sign language, etc.). - Mobility for the blind (the white stick, orientation, spatial reference points, "visualisations", etc. - Technical aid (optical, optoelectronic, computer, domotic devices, etc.). Specific training. - The "personality" of the deaf and the blind and their professional psychosocial future. |
