| Course contents : | The architectures of the systems commonly used in Artificial Intelligence are illustrated through a set of selected examples and software. The main topics covered during the course are : foundations of AI, knowledge representation, reasoning, search, machine learning, expert systems, natural language understanding, planning and robots, agents, models of the mind. The different concepts are presented through systems like STRIPS, SHRDLU, CYC, slipnet based systems, neural networks, cellular automata, genetic algorithms. |

| Course objective : | The course has two objectives : acquisition of the basic mathematical and computer oriented concepts used in the study of the mind, acquisition of the basic tools needed to formalise cognitive processes. |
