Holder(s) :  Despina Naziri

Course contents :  The course first reviews the historical evolution of current trends in psychotherapies. It shows the classification of psychotherapies according to various theories, their aims, the criteria for the cure, the actions to be taken depending on the age of the patient and so on. Some psychotherapies are then presented in a more systematic way in order to understand concepts and techniques that enable the development of the therapeutical process: such as the psychotherapies based on interpretations (psychoanalysis, psychotherapies originating from psychoanalysis), psychodrama, family therapy, gestalt therapy and bio-energy. Finally, the course addresses some specific issues relating to the influence of the cultural context, the evaluation of the therapy effect, the combination of therapeutical strategies.
Course objective :  The objectives are:
- To inform the students about the current complexity of practices given the current high number of various models.
- To analyse in depth some specific aspects of the psychotherapeutical process (such as frame, relationship between patient and psychotherapist, criteria of cure, etc).
- To develop a critical analysis of the differences and complementarities between various schools of psychotherapy.
