| Course contents : | Advanced seminar devoted to the study of the animal abilities regarding language and the origins of human language |

| Course objective : | Bolster the students' information and knowledge regarding a number of basic questions concerning language; starting with the very notion of language; specify the bearing on the general problem of the experimental and observational data regarding the animal abilities in terms of language learning and functioning; set up the register of specifics that characterize human languages within comparative and evolutionary perspectives |

| Organization : | Seminar work; each student or group of students will be responsible for working over, presenting, and discussing in front of and together with the class one of the particular problematics belonging to the seminar. |
