| PHYS0946-1 | Physics of the GPS
| Duration : | 20h Th |
| Credits/ECTS : |
| Holder(s) : | Henri‑Pierre Garnir |
| Language : | Langue française |
| Course contents : | We shall study the physical concepts, resulting from electromagnetism, quantum physics and relativity, which underlie the development of the GPS. Practical manipulations will highlight the properties of the system. |
| Course objective : | From the GPS observation, we shall deduce the physical concepts on which the system relies. |
| Prerequisites : | Course "Cold atoms and atomic clocks" |
| Workshops : | Practical use of the GPS and description of the limits of the system. |
| Assessment : | Description of one of the laboratories. |
