Course objective :  Understanding of laser physics, technology and application field
Prerequisites :  Basic optics + physical and wave optics + basic quantum mechanics as learned in Bachelor Degree
Workshops :  Laboratory sessions :
4 h about practical technology and use of science lasers

5 h Visits of Labs and Companies involved in lasers

Basics of photolithography processes (6h)

Interferometry (15h)

  • "Physique du Laser", R. FARCY, Dunod Université - 190 pages;
  • "Optics", E. HECHT, Addison-Wesley co. (2e ed et suivantes) - 676 pages, ainsi que de nombreux autres ouvrages et articles traitant du sujet.
Assessment :  25% is achieved by personal investigations and presentation.
25% is achieved by lab activities and reporting.
40% is achieved by exam.

The exam is based on exercice to be solved with lecture material + oral exam on the overall understanding.
