Course contents :  Gottlob Frege, Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Rudolf Carnap and the Vienna Circle, philosophers of "ordinary language" (Ryle, Austin, Strawson), Willard Van Orman Quine, contemporary debates on realism (Davidson, Kripke, Putnam, Rorty), philosophy of mind (Dennett, Fodor, Searle, Churchland).
Course objective :  Good command of the historical development, the main issues and the special methods of analytic philosophy.
Prerequisites :  Basic knowledge of logic and history of philosophy.
Organization :  The course will take place during the second semester (February-May) on Mondays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Place : salle Philosophie I (Département de Philosophie, Place du XX août, 2nd floor). http://cipl82.philo.ulg.ac.be/horaires

Reading list will be given on the first lesson.
Assessment :  Oral exam in June and September.

No student will be allowed to take the exam on another day than the other students.
