Course contents :  Historical and philosophical approach to aesthetic theories from Antiquity to the contemporary period. Analysis of theories accompanied by detailed examination of carefully selected works of art that are the among the most representative of their periods.
Course objective :  To allow students to take into consideration the development of major concepts in the history of aesthetics. To promote their understanding and ability to handle these concepts, while raising their awareness of great works in the history of art.
Prerequisites :  None.
Workshops :  None.
Organization :  Length and time period of course : 30 hours, 2nd quadrimester.
Location and time of course : Philo II room, Tuesday from 17h to 19h.
