Course contents :  The course marks out the context of exercise of the teacher profession in the French Community of Belgium.
Course objective :  - Take note of the educational policies and the current organization of the educational system in the French Community of Belgium.
- Better identify spaces of freedom and action of the teachers thanks to the analysis of the constraints and the texts of reference.
- Understand and pose a critical glance on the school institution in the light of elements of near past and in relation to the evolution of the societal context.
Prerequisites :  For the first course, each student will get the Décret-missions and the "Contrat pour l'école".
Workshops :  Group works on legal texts, on the public's reactions.
Organization :  The course is based on the preliminary knowledges of the students.
Written notes :  A book : J. Beckers (2008). Enseignants en Communauté française de Belgique : mieux comprendre le système, ses institutions et ses politiques éducatives pour mieux situer son action (2nd ed.). Bruxelles : Edition De Boeck.
Assessment :  Written examination in two parts : a closed book part (questions with short answers, questions with truth or false answers) and an open book part (questions with long open answers).
