Course contents :  Attacks - adaptation - cell death - inflammation, autoimmunity - senescence - thrombosis and embolisms - fluid distribution - metabolism - hypersensitivity - healing - tumours - oncogenesis - medical genetics.
Course objective :  This course seeks to describe the main processes at work when an organism is subjected to attacks, taking into account the genetic interactions. It includes general notions of pathological anatomy, pathological biochemistry, physio-pathology, immuno-pathology and genetics.
Prerequisites :  Human biochemistry, human histology, human physiology, general immunology.
Workshops :  None.
Organization :  The course will be given in the first four-month period (3rd year) and in the second four-month period (2nd year). Using slides, overheads and Powerpoint projections.
Written notes :  Copies of slides (etc) will be given to students, along with the lecturers' notes.
Assessment :  Written examination.
