| Course contents : | This second-cycle course concerning pathologies of the cardiovascular system describes the essential clinical elements according to the following aspects: medical, surgical, anatomical and pathological, pharmacological, radiological and resuscitation. First, cardiological semiology is described. Diagnostic and therapeutic evaluation of patients is presented with regard to coronary, vascular (arterial and venous systems), valvular, myocardial and pericardial pathologies. The course also deals with cardiac insufficiency, arterial hypertension, pulmonary embolisms, arrhythmia and preventive methods. The main forms of congenital cardiological pathology are also considered. |

Following the theoretical classes, practical work and placements, students must be capable of meticulously questioning patients by asking the appropriate questions and by correctly interpreting the answers, carrying out a careful clinical examination, deducing a diagnostic approach, selecting the required complementary examination(s), knowing the value and the limits and meticulously interpreting the results, presenting the essential elements of the decision-making algorithms and the therapeutic recommendations. |
