Course contents :  In the "meteorology" section, we will examine heat transfer, water vapour through the air-sea interface.
We will study in more depth certain meteorological phenomena such as trade winds, monsoons, tropical cyclones and the el nino phenomenon.
In the "climate" section, we will focus more specifically upon marine and coastal climates.
Course objective :  This course will take stock of, in a pragmatic way, the basic notions of meteorology and climatology applicable to the sea.
Prerequisites :  This course assumes basic university-level knowledge of physics and chemistry
A course in elementary meteorology.
Workshops :  ()
Organization :  Five 3-hour classes for each module, including readings to be commented upon from books or journal articles.
Written notes :  Documents will be distributed as needed.
Assessment :  Written examination (open book), followed by a discussion.
