Course contents :  This course has the puropose of presenting new numerical methods under development. Apart from the theoretical presentation of these methods, the goal pursued by these new developments, their state-of-the-art, and the future challenges are discussed. Among these methods, one can find

  • Meshless methods
  • Extended finite element methods (XFEM)
  • Discontinuous Galerkin methods
  • SPH
  • Etc
Prerequisites :  Advanced knowledges in

  • Solid mechanics
  • Fluid mechanics
  • Finite-element methods

Assessment :  Evaluation is based on a project, which consists in the implementation of one of the recently developed numerical methods.
