| Course contents : | Nowadays, automotive vehicles have turned into complex electromechanical systems or mechatronics systems, in which mechanics, electronics and software are closely related. These devices are embarqued in the vehicle to make it as an intelligent system. The goal of the lecture is to introduce the principles of these new components. As these ones resort more and more often to miniaturisation and microsystems, an introduction is also provided to this new domain.
The following topics will be visited:
- Introduction and motivation
- Control of the vehicle dynamics: cruise control, anti lock bracking systems (ABS), anti skid, control of lateral dyanmics (ESP), active and semi-active suspensions.
- Passive security systems: airbags
- Introduction to MEMS and their applications to vehicular systems,
