Course contents :  Textual semiotics provides a method to analyse texts, literary or not, based upon linguistic premises.
Course objective :  1. Initiation to methods and practices of internal analysis, particularly of literary texts.
2. Inititation to theoretical problems about linguistic textual analysis.
Prerequisites :  Competence in French language is essential for an appreciation of the complexities of French texts.

Assessment :  Oral examination based upon a paper written by the student. This paper consists in a textual analysis following the semiotic methods.
