| Course contents : | 1. Studying syntactic problems in contemporary German, in particular word order.
2. Introduction to contemporary German linguistics (syntax).
3. Practicing basic grammar and vocabulary. |

a. Making exercises and reading linguistic texts to prepare discussion in class.
b. Translating texts at home.

| Written notes : | Work used: Grewendorf, Hamm, Sternefeld: Sprachliches Wissen. Suhrkamp (Taschenbuch).
The students are supposed to have:
- Langenscheidts Großwôrterbuch Deutsch als Fremdsprache.
- A German Grammar.
- Langenscheidt: basic vocabulary of German.
Sheets will also be handed out. |
