Course contents :  This course aims at consolidating the language capacities necessary in everyday life. It also aims at developing the language capacities which will be useful in professional life (getting into contact and remaining in contact; reading and writing reports and presentations, etc.).
Contents of the course: study of newspaper articles and broadcasts from TV or radio dealing with social, economic, financial and intercultural subjects.
Course objective :  The purpose of the course is to consolidate and extend the students' general language understanding and use.

It also increases the knowledge of economic and financial vocabulary.
Prerequisites :  Good grounding in general Dutch language ( corresponding to Level 1 and 2 taught in the 1st and 2nd year of the Bachelor's degree).
Organization :  2 hours a week during the whole year

Students are asked to prepare the exercises and texts on which the course is based.
Regular attendance and active participation are essential.
Oral exercises: debates, conversation tables and roleplay.
Written exercises: letters, reports, summaries of lectures.
Listening comprehension exercises.
Exercises on specific economic and financial vocabulary.
