Course contents :  
  • Consolidation and extension of grammar skills (through grammar (drill) exercises).
  • Extension of vocabulary, reading, writing speaking an listening activities from authentic documents (audio, video and press articles). The subjects are of general interest, and have always something to do with the business world.
  • Listening comprehension exercices.
Course objective :  
  • Extension and consolidation of the 4 language skills, namely speaking, listening, reading and writing, to enable students to reach an intermediate level in everyday Dutch.
  • introduction to business Dutch.
Prerequisites :  General skills in basic Dutch that correspond to level 1 (LANG0650-1) are required.
Organization :  
  • 3 hours every week in the first part of the year.
  • 2 hours every in the second part of the year.
All the students are asked to read the documents and prepare the exercises. Regular attendance and active participation are essential. Students may ask questions anytime during the year or make an appointment to see their trainer.

Assessment :  Several writing tasks (with feed-back) and oral presentations will enable students to assess themselves.
Written examination in January.
