Course contents :  1. Theoretical course:

Introduction to the Database Management Sytems, ACCESS and MySQL DBMS, the relational algebra and the normal forms of the Codd relational model, the SQL language, DATA DEFINITION LANGUAGE (DDL), DATA MANIPULATION LANGUAGE (DML) and QUERIES.

Introduction to the PHP scripts language.

Internet: PHP-MySQL dynamic web.

Examples of applications in management and exercices.

2. Workshops:

ACCESS and MySQL Databases, PHP scripts and dynmic web.

3. Database project:

The students will realize a PHP-MySQL Database project and will write a report on this work.
Course objective :  To allow the students to develop management applications with computer-based tools: ACCESS DBMS, SQL queries. Internet: dynamic web, MySQL DBMS, SQL queries and PHP scripts. To design and realize a Database Management System. To be able to effectively carry out the stages of a research on Internet aiming an informational need.
Prerequisites :  Data processing in management engineering : partim I
Workshops :  Sessions of workshops on personal computer: Database ACCESS, PHP scripts, documentation retrieval on Internet, advanced Excel.
Organization :  The course is given to the second four-monthly period. The theoretical course: 2h per week. The workshops: 2h by fortnight. E-learning.

Assessment :  Written examination on the theoretical course.

Practical examination on computer.

Oral examination: presentation of the PHP-MySQL Database project.
