Course contents :  Theory, data and method - Chronology - Natural and environmental sciences - Raw materials - Typology - Technology - Refit analysis - Functionality - Vegetal materials - Bone industries - Grindstone industries - Other materials (ceramics, metals) - Faunal remains - Human remains - Analysis of archaeological assemblages - Spatial relationships - Experimental archaeology - Ethnoarchaeology.
Course objective :  The course consists of an introduction the methods of prehistoric archaeology (e.g., typology, use-wear analysis, archaeozoology).
Prerequisites :  None, but a minimum of knowledge in the sciences is helpful.
Organization :  Duration and period: 60h + 10 days of excursions, trips and field training, 1st and 2nd terms.

Classroom and schedule: Prehistory Museum(building A4), Tuesday, 2-4 pm, odd years only.
Written notes :  A bibliography of the major reference works is distributed at the beginning of the year.
Assessment :  Oral examination at the end of the year. Exam session in June.
