Course contents :  
  • Introduction and mechanisms of alteration
  • Erosion and transport
  • Deposition, granulometry of sediments and sedimentary structures
  • Post-sedimentary evolution
  • Detrital sediments
  • Evaporites, silicites, iron sediments, phosphorites
  • Continental and marine carbonates
  • Organic and volcano-sedimentary deposits
Practical work or fieldtrip will be organized.
Course objective :  To acquire the basics of sedimentology.
Prerequisites :  General geology.
Workshops :  Fieldtrip.
Organization :  Lectures in lecture rooms of buildings B18 or B20.
