Course contents :  The students should analyse in a critical manner all the aspects of a feasibility project. The project could be typically a mining one, but could be also related to rehabilitation of former industrial site. All the stages of the mining project duration, from geological prospecting through deposit evaluation and choice of methods for exploitation and mineral processing to site rehabilitation should be considered. Environmental, hydro-geological and financial (cash-flow) issues should be addressed and studied in depth.
Course objective :  To enable the students understanding the principle steps in performing feasibility study of a mining project, using realistic case-study based scenario. The project should cover all the important stages of prospecting, geological and geotechnical studies, mining and ore processing operations and closure issues.
Assessment :  A wirtten report and an oral presentation, both in English, is requested from each group of students which have been working on a specific topic within the project.
