Course contents :  An introduction to mineralogy as well as magmatic and metamorphic petrology.
Course objective :  Mineralogy

Magmatic and metamorphic petrology: general overview of the main types of magmatic and metamorphic rocks and their conditions of formation
Prerequisites :  general geology
Workshops :  Observation of macroscopic rock samples and their corresponding thin sections.
Organization :  Lectures are organized in two modules, each of them given by a specialist.
Written notes :  Magmatic and metamorphic petrology:
powerpoint presentations and printed copy
Assessment :  written examination
