| Course contents : | The cursus is divided in four parts. - introduction; - diagenetic processes; - exchanges between sediment particles and interstitial water; - cycle of metallic elements. |

| Course objective : | Study of chemical processes leading to formation of sedimentary rocks. Analyses of physical and chemical modifications through early diagenesis. Influence of kinetics and bacterial activity. |

| Prerequisites : | Basic knowledge of mineral chemistry and thermodynamic. |
 |
| Workshops : | Analyses and interpretation of geochemical signatures of sediments. Treatment and interprétation of analyses géochimiques. Use of excel softawre. |
 |
| Organization : | Theory: 5 lectures x 3h. Practise: 5 lessons x 3h. |

| Assessment : | (a) Theory - Individual oral examination.
(b) TP - Personal work. Selection of a scientific paper related to sedimentary geochemistry. Oral presentation with supports (15 minutes) and short written report. |
