Course contents :  The cursus is divided in four parts.
- introduction;
- diagenetic processes;
- exchanges between sediment particles and interstitial water;
- cycle of metallic elements.
Course objective :  Study of chemical processes leading to formation of sedimentary rocks. Analyses of physical and chemical modifications through early diagenesis. Influence of kinetics and bacterial activity.
Prerequisites :  Basic knowledge of mineral chemistry and thermodynamic.
Workshops :  Analyses and interpretation of geochemical signatures of sediments.
Treatment and interprétation of analyses géochimiques.
Use of excel softawre.
Organization :  Theory: 5 lectures x 3h.
Practise: 5 lessons x 3h.

Assessment :  (a) Theory - Individual oral examination.

(b) TP - Personal work. Selection of a scientific paper related to sedimentary geochemistry. Oral presentation with supports (15 minutes) and short written report.
