Course contents :  This course is splitted in two parts :
The first one (5h Th) is dedicated to an overall presentation of the information research tools available at the Earth Sciences Library of the ULg. Among these : Source, GEOREF, Web of Science, Science Direct,... as well as some specific internet resources.
The correct writing of bibliographical references is also taught.

The second part (25h Pr) is dedicated to an individual bibliographical research work. The proposed subject is defined in close cooperation with the mineral resources course. A written report presenting the subjects and the existing bibliographical sources is asked from each student. An audio-visual presentation of his work in front of the classroom is organised.
Course objective :  - to teach students to develop documentation research skills on a specific topic in relation with the mineral resources sector.
- to teach students to write down a written synthesis of their research results.
Prerequisites :  Mineral Resources (GEOL0020-4)
Workshops :  See above.
Organization :  The first part of the course is held within the library.
For the rest of their project, students are invited to work in autonomy. Access to all documentation resources within the university are guaranteed and students are invited to direct their questions to the personnel of the library or the assistants of the Mineral Resources course.
Written notes :  A tutorial relative to document research is at the students' disposal.
Assessment :  The evaluation of this course is based on :
- the clear understanding of the subject.
- the quality of the bibliography (quality and importance of the documents; quality of the references)
- clarity and written quality of the text
- oral presentation
