| Course contents : | - Introduction, Earth differentiation, minerals and rocks, igneous rocks and magmatic processes, sedimentary processes, stratigraphy, geological maps and cross-sections, metamorphic rocks, folds, faults and rock deformation, weathering, soils, mass wasting, erosion, fluvial, coastal and marine erosion and sedimentation
- Water cycle, and groundwater, georesources and environmental issues
- Engineering geology for civil construction works, seismic hazard, geological aspects in dam, tunnel or waste disposal construction |

| Course objective : | Introduction course to earth sciences, geology and particularly to engineering geology for civil engineers in construction or civil engineers in architecture. |

| Workshops : | Practical work sessions are organised in direct relation with the topics covered by the theory lessons. |
