Course contents :  This optional course will be given to the students who are intended for the fundamental research in physical geography and more specifically in geomorphology.
It aims to provide to these students a base of reflexion on the various approaches that can be adopted in modeling in this field of application : spatial and nonspatial, static or dynamic, physical or statistical modeling.
It will be held in the form of seminar animated by the students on the basis of an individual bibliographical research. This individual research will be presented and discussed with the professor and the other students during a synthesis workshop.
Course objective :  Sensitizing to the modeling tools in geomorphology.
Prerequisites :  Good training in Earth sciences, physics, mathematics, statistics and spatial analysis.
Workshops :  Nothing.
Organization :  The lessons will be organized by mutual agreement with the students according to the number of registered students and of the disponbilities of each one. A representative of the registered students will contact the professor to establish a schedule as soon as possible.
Written notes :  Bibliographical refernces provided by the professor at the first lesson and the slides presented by the students supplemented of their bibliography.
Assessment :  Evaluation of the presentation made by each student.
