| Course contents : | The course presents the erosion processes acting on hillslopes: creep, runoff, mass movement, with special emphasis on the landslides (typology, mechanisms, determining and triggering factors, prediction, hazard mitigation). |

| Course objective : | The course aims to highlight the role of landslides in eroding and sculpturing the hillslopes, and to illustrate the complex interplay between landsliding and the human activities. |

| Prerequisites : | Basic knowledge in mechanics and geomorphology. |
 |
| Organization : | The course will be made of bibliographical reports carried out and presented by the students on themes selected within a list of suggestions. The PowerPoint presentations are planned for the 2nd semester and will last ~1 hour each. |
 |
| Written notes : | Titles of useful textbooks will be provided. |
 |
| Assessment : | Written or oral examination, depending on the number of students. |
