| Course contents : | The course includes three parts: the theory relating to the remote sensing, applications of the remote sensing in geomorphology on the one hand and in the rural zones and the natural environment on the other hand.
After an introduction specifying the field of the remote sensing, the first part will be devoted to the geometrical characteristics of the aerial photographies, the stereoscopic vision and the deformations of the stereoscopic model.
The second part will treat the geological and geomorphological interpretation of aerial photographies as well as the contribution of the satellite images in earth sciences and more especially on natural hazards.
A third part will consider the analysis of the agricultural, forest and natural areas and the contributions of the remote sensed data in archaeology. |
 |
| Course objective : | To provide the basis of the aerial photographies and satellite images interpretation to the geographers and geometricians. |
 |
| Prerequisites : | Stereoscopic vision.
Good knowledge in geomorphology. |
 |
| Workshops : | 15h of practical work organized in 5 sessions of 3h.
Four sessions will be devoted to the interpretations of couples of aerial photographies and satellite images (E. Hallot).
A session will present the research of satellite images by Internet (M. Salmon). |
 |
| Organization : | 10h of theoretical courses: 5 meetings of 2h.
15h of practical work: 5 meetings of 3h. |
 |
| Written notes : | Notes of the theoretical course (A. OZER)
Notes about the research of satellite images by internet (M. Salmon). |
 |
| Assessment : | - Written theoretical examination (10 pts)
- Evaluation of the practical works carried out during the year (2 pts)
- Examination of aerial photographies (4 pts)
- Report about the research for satellite images (4 pts) |
