Course objective :  · To get acquainted with the main methods used in genetic engineering
· To get informed of the potential of genetic engineering in the study of living organisms, as well as in the improvement of species for human use and for the production of recombinant proteins.
Prerequisites :  Molecular biology and genetics (courses of the bachelier in Biology).
Organization :  Lectures during first period on Wednesdays from 8:30 to 10:00 am (weeks 1 to 8), on Thursdays from 11:00 to 12:30 am (weeks 1 to 8), and on Fridays from 11:00 to 12:30 am (weeks 1 to 4). On Thurdays, the lectures could be delayed (i.e. from 11:30 to 13:00) if students from the master in Bioinformatics and modelisation had to follow this course (this will be settled during the first lecture).

Assessment :  Written exam in May-June.
