| Course contents : | The course is mainly composed of lectures with examples and case studies. It first deals with problems relating to the morphology of coastlines and to the functioning of maritime protection works. It then reviews the relevant dimensioning methods in order to design port infrastructures. |

| Written notes : | The course is very specific and has its own sufficiently detailed notes: it isn't necessary to consult specific works. For any students who wish to improve their knowledge, a library collection in this particular field is maintained mainly thanks to the department's own funds. |

| Assessment : | There is an oral exam in June; the mark also takes into account the results of the practical work. |
