Course contents :  -Definition of sustainable construction
- Importance of sustainable construction in a context of sustainable development
- Issues and problems related to transport
- Description of methods and tools for evaluating the sustainable development of a civil engineering project
- Importance of the choice of materials
- Importance of enforcement
- Water in the building (consumption, infiltration ...)
- Energy in construction (types of heating, limiting consumption through proper design, use of sustainable sources, ...)
- The tightness of buildings (ventilation, air quality, ..)
- The lighting of buildings
- The dismantling of buildings ( "deconstruction", the management and disposal of waste)
Course objective :  To provide the engineer with the knowledge of concepts and tools to develop his projects in the spirit of sustainable development
Written notes :  Computer Support (.ppt)
Assessment :  Personal research project implementing concepts studied in class.
