| Course objective : | Basic principles, determining the mechanical properties of rock masses, experimental investigations, constitutive models, stability of underground opening, design procedures, tunneling methodology, rock slope stability, rock foundation engineering, etc. |

| Prerequisites : | Solid mechanics, basic geotechnics |

| Workshops : | analytical computation of tunnel convergence and support loading (Excel file to be developped), wedge stability, letrature review, report writting, synthesis oral presentation |
