Duration :  36h Th, 36h Pr
Credits/ECTS :
Advanced Master in Environmental Management in developing countries Toute l'année6
Holder(s) :  Jean‑Luc Vasel
Language :  Langue française
Course contents :  Course given 1° semester. Water treatment (drinking/ industry). Wastewater treatment physico-chemical and biological treament are studied by a "Unit Processes" approach
Course objective :  The course is aiming at providing knowledges about the main steps of water treatment, how to operate those facilities and how to design the main equipments
Prerequisites :  Basics in Chemistry (Acid/base, redox, stoechiometry,..), physics, microbiology, and data processing;

Knowledge of Excel
Workshops :  The main unit processes are studied theoretically and by practical tests done by the students, including data processing and calculations.

Practical parts of biological treatments are done by tests on full scale facilities
Organization :  1° semester . Practical training follows the theory as close as possible. Each practical test is described in a document provided to the students before the tests. The course is divided into 3 parts : water treatment (drinking/ industry) , waste water treatment (physic-chemical and biological). Practical part is focusing on the 2 last parts. Group reports are asked to the students.
Written notes :  Power Points copies to the students. Those files are also store annually on the intranet. "Students tasks" files are also provided before practical tests.
